Lake Kiowa was created in 1970 when Indian Creek was dammed to form a 563-acre impoundment in southeastern Cooke County. Managed by the Lake Kiowa Property Owners Association (LKPOA), this man-made lake maintains a steady water level and a well-preserved shoreline of roughly 9 miles, surrounded by residential homes, parks, and golf-course landscapes.
The lake’s design emphasizes recreation, environmental balance, and community living. The surrounding area includes beaches, pavilions, walking paths, picnic spaces, and even a private 18-hole championship golf course. Its clear waters, mild topography, and consistent conditions make it a standout example of Texas’ planned lakefront living—perfect for boating, fishing, and scenic relaxation all year round.

Marinas & Storage: Although no commercial marina exists, the community offers dry-storage areas and docks managed by the Property Owners Association. Maintenance, fuel, and cleaning services are available through local vendors just outside the gate.
